SuMo backs Manjhi on new excise law

Patna,(BiharTimes): The BJP flip-flop on prohibition policy in Bihar continues.

After announcing its plan to join human chain on January 21 the saffron party on Wednesday sought to know if the Nitish Kumar government would shut the factories still manufacturing alcohol before that day.

Former deputy chief minister and senior BJP leader, who always had a different stand on new excise policy, asked when there is total prohibition in the state, what is the rationale behind three beer manufacturing units to function?

Raising several questions regarding prohibition in the state  he also sought to know if the state government would take back, before January 21, the stringent provisions in the new Excise Act such as the ones related to community fine and arrest of all the adults in the event of recovery of liquor.

A day earlier former chief minister and leader of the Hindustani Awam Morcha, Jitan Ram Manjhi, made a similar demand.
