Nitish’s lieutenant is now in Akhilesh’s war room





Patna,(BiharTimes): Son of an Air Force officer Ghanshyam Tiwari, was till recently a lieutenant of Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar. On Friday this MBA degree-holder from Kellog’s Institute of Management and Masters in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School in the US, officially joined the Samajwadi Party as its national spokesperson.

Incidentally, 35-year old Tiwari  received his appointment letter from none else but UP chief minister-cum-Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav.

Tiwari has been JD(U) Bihar unit’s chief advisor between 2010 and 2015. He had also been the communication advisor to Bihar chief minister and party spokesperson till 2016.

Originally from Gorari village in Rohtas district, of Bihar Tiwari completed his schooling from Kanpur.

He worked for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in the United States before returning to India in 2010 and started to work in the field of education in Bihar.

The same year he met senior JD(U) leaders and joined the party.

Regarding his new assignment in UP he said he first met Akhilesh in 2012 when the latter was campaigning for Assembly election. He said he was impressed with Akhilesh since the very beginning––after a friend introduced him––as he has emerged as a terrific young leader…

“I got an offer to work for SP in 2012 but it couldn’t materialise then,” he was quoted in the media.

Tiwari said he was always fascinated with the concept of socialism and the idea of Samajwadi Party.
