FIR lodged against six RRB employees after banned notes disappeared





Patna,(BiharTimes): A case has been lodged against six officials of the main branch of Madhya Bihar Grameen Bank in Sasaram.

The FIR has been lodged at Model Police Station of the town after banned currency notes worth Rs 1.19 crore went missing from the  chest of this bank a few days back.

Those named in the FIR are chief branch manager Ashok Kumar Sinha, Nageshwar Manjhi and Rajendra Tiwari (both cashiers), Yugal Kishore Sinha, K K Singh and Ajit Kumar, all employees of the same branch.

According to the regional officer of the Bank, Ravindra Nath Trivedi, the officials were responsible for maintaining records of the cash amount> deposited in the chest till December 30, 2016.

He said Rs 229 crore from 83 branches of Madhya Bihar Grameen Bank in demonetized notes were deposited at the main branch, but a difference of Rs 1.19 crore was found in the amount deposited with the RBI.
