Bihar BJP delegation meets CEC, seeks Tej Pratap’s disqualification
Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bihar unit of the BJP has sought the
disqualification of health minister Tej Pratap Yadav.
A delegation led by the leader of opposition in the Legislative
Council, Sushil Kumar Modi, on Monday submitted a memorandum to Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi in New Delhi demanding
disqualification of Tej Pratap as Mahua MLA.
The memorandum submitted by the BJP team on behalf of Pankaj Kumar
from Mahua assembly constituency in Vaishali district, said that Tej
Pratap furnished wrong figures and concealed information in his
affidavit to the EC for contesting the 2015 Assembly election.
According to SuMo Tej Pratap withheld information regarding land
measuring around 45.24 decimal (equivalent to 15 katthas) bought by
him at a prime location in Aurangabad district in 2010.
SuMo said a three-storey automobile showroom was built on the said
land by Lara Distributors Pvt. Ltd in which Tej was the managing
director from April 21, 2010 to November 9, 2015.
He said Tej purchased the land in 2010 and used it subsequently for
business purposes. The payment for the said land was made through
cheques from his ICICI Bank account. Thereafter, he mortgaged the land
for obtaining loan for setting up an automobile showroom on the land.
