When in Lalu’s party BJP MP Rama Devi gifted 13 acres of land to minor Tej Pratap

Patna,(BiharTimes): This one disclosure by senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi which may land the party MP from Sheohar, Rama Devi, in a spot.

She gifted two plots measuring nine acres and 24 decimal, and three acres and 88 decimal to Tej Pratap, on March 23, 1992 at Kishanpur mouza, under Kudni police station in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. Tej, who is now the health minister, was just four years old then.

The deed, which is written in Utdu, states that Rama Devi gifted the plot because “although Tej is a minor, he takes care of Rama Devi as much as possible. Rama Devi, who was happy with Tej’s gesture, decided to  gift the land to him.”

Incidentally, Rama Devi’s husband, Brij Bihari Prasad, was a senior leader of the then Janata Dal and a minister in Lalu Prasad’s cabinet.

Brij Bihari, a noted strongman, was killed in 1998. His wife Rama Devi then became minister. However, she later crossed over to the BJP and became its MP.

“Yes, I had given my plot as gift to Tej Pratap

> on instruction of my husband. We were not using the land anyway, and my husband impressed upon me that giving the land to Lalu Prasad would bring

road and electricity to the area,” Rama Devi was quoated in the media as saying.

Sushil Modi told mediapersons on Tuesday that it appears quite likely that Rama Devi had gifted the land to Lalu Prasad for making her husband a minister.

Now that the person who gifted land is in BJP and is not seeing any wrong in doing so, it raises a serious question.

Why after all the BJP wooed the wife of the man who was so dear to Lalu and whose past was not so good?
