SuMo attributes rise in crime to ‘bureaucratic divide’ in Bihar

Patna,(BiharTimes):  If former Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi is to be believed  the law and order situation in Bihar has deteriorated because of division in bureaucracy following the tussle within the Grand Alliance.

He said the two main constituents of the ruling Grand Alliance are trying to manage the bureaucracy and police.

SuMo, who was in East Champaran to meet victims of crime, mainly traders,  said the bureaucracy is divided between  chief minister Nitish Kumar and RJD chief Lalu  Prasad. Thus the bureaucrats and police are working at cross purposes. Due to this, there is a big jump in crime in recently, he alleged.

SuMo said  transfers and postings of bureaucrats and police officers are long overdue.

The senior BJP leader on Wednesday met family members of trader Indrajit Jaiswal, who was recently  shot dead in Motihari. He said the district magistrate and the superintendent of police have been given free hand to loot.

According to him the murder of Jaiswal had unleashed a sense of fear in the business  community. In the last one year, six persons had been killed by  extortionists in East Champaran, but the district police had failed to  arrest anyone.
