JD(U) flays SuMo’s threat to disrupt Monsoon Session

Patna,(BiharTimes): For a change, Janata Dal (United) on Monday criticized the leader of opposition in the state Legislative Council, Sushil Kumar Modi, for his remarks that the BJP would not allow the Monsoon Session of Assembly function if the deputy chief minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav does not quit.

Reacting to SuMo’s Sunday statement party’s national spokesman K C Tyagi called it totally uncalled for adding that chief minister Nitish Kumar’s stand against corruption is well known. It does not behave a leader like Sushil Modi to threat that the proceedings of both the Houses would not be allowed to function. State JD(U) spokesmen Dr Ajay Alok too attacked SuMo. Without naming President Pranab Mukherjee the JD(U) spokesman quoted his view that legislature are meant to “debate, dissent and discussion and not for disruption”.

Referring to demand on Tejashwi the spokesman said that “our leader would decide. How can Sushil Modi say that he would not allow Assembly to function,. Can any opposition leader say that he would not allow Parliament to function.”

Another JD(U) spokesmen Sanjay Singh too criticised the BJP leader’s statement, which was flayed by the BJP MP, Bhola Singh too. However, another BJPP leader and former minister Nand Kishore Yadav said on Monday that “it is ‘shramnaak’ (shameful) that Nitish Kumar has taken no action against Tejashwi.

“How will he sit beside his deputy against whom such a serious charges have been levelled and against whom the CBI has lodged an FIR. The BJP would not allow the Assembly to function,” the former state BJP chief said.

It is after a long time that JD(U) spokesmen have criticized Sushil Kumar Modi. Of late they are busy attacking Grand Alliance partner the RJD.
