Clueless JD(U) asks spokespersons to hold fire

Patna,(BiharTimes): The president of the Bihar unit of Janata Dal (United) Bashishtha Narayan Singh on Monday called party spokespersons Sanjay Singh and Ajay Alok not to make comment against RJD leaders. The two were invited to the residence of state president while the message was conveyed to the third spokesperson, Neeraj Kumar.

Incidentally, the move came on the day when RJD vice president Raghuvansh Prasad Singh went on offensive on the issue of corruption and talked about the widespread and rampant loot during the Nitish Kumar era since 2005.

Raising the issue of corruption from top to bottom Raghuvansh satirically asked where has the ‘zero-tolerance’ gone.

Following state JD(U) chief’s instruction nobody from the party spoke anything against RJD and state deputy CM, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav––a common practice since July 7 CBI raids on the premises of  Lalu Prasad and his family.

The ‘gag’ came just a day after Nitish came to Patna for a day from New Delhi and reportedly held some consultations with leaders here.

In the national capital he had talks with Rahul Gandhi, met PM Narendra Modi and other senior party leaders, especially former party president Sharad Yadav, who is upset with his stand on Tejashwi.

“It is not necessary for our spokespersons to speak all the time, I have asked them to maintain decorum,” Bashistha said thus clearly conceding that they were crossing decorum.

A senior JD(U) leader was quoted in The Telegraph as saying: “Since July 11 we have been repeating the same thing––asking Tejashwi to give a point-wise explanation on the CBI FIR against him. Thirteen days have passed and we have been saying the same thing again and again with no concrete answer from the RJD side. The JD(U) will look like fools if we continue to do so.”

“The motive behind the everyday attack was resignation of Tejashwi. However, the RJD is not even ready to listen to us despite our repeated attacks. So, the party finally decided not to speak unless anything concrete comes from the RJD side. If the JD(U) continues the attack and the RJD continues to ignore, the people will laugh at us,” the senior JD(U) leader said.

According to analysts Sanjay Singh and Ajay Alok have especially been chosen, as the language they are using does not behove the party, which is still in alliance with the RJD. The gag order clearly indicates that something else is cooking up.
