50.12 per cent pass BSEB Class-X exam





Patna,(BiharTimes): About 50.12 per cent students passed Class-X exam of Bihar School Examination Board. This is more than three per cent higher than the last year percentage of 46.6.

The result was announced by the chairman of BSEB, Anand Kishor. He said that the authorities had taken utmost care to double-check the answer books of toppers besides going in for their physical verification.

Prem Kumar of the Sree Govind High School, Mano in Lakhisarai district, topped the exams with 465 (93 per cent) out of 500 marks.

Bhavya Kumari of Simultala Residential School in Jamui district came second with 464 marks (92.8%), followed by Harshita Kumari with 462 out of 500 (92.4%) marks.

A total of 8,63,950 students passed out of the 17,23,911 who took the matriculation examination this year.

About 13.91% students secured first division, 26.88% got a second division and 9.32% got third division.

He said in fact, the Class 10 results were delayed as some of the toppers failed to appear before its board for a physical verification. About 40 students in the top 10 list were summoned for the physical check and review of their copies.
