Caricature in JD(U) continues as Tyagi eats his own words

Patna,(BiharTimes): The turmoil in which Janata Dal (United) president Nitish Kumar has landed his own party over the issue of Presidential election continues on Wednesday when a senior party leader took a big U-turn over his party’s relationship with the BJP.

A day after stating that the relationship between Janata Dal (United) and Bharatiya Janata Party was much cordial when the two parties were in alliance and ruling the country under the leadership of the then prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the JD(U) national general secretary K C Tyagi said that his statement had been misinterpreted and misunderstood.

Regretting that wrong meaning has been attributed to his statement Tyagi clarified on Wednesday that the Grand Alliance is in tact and it would not only continue till 2020, but till 2025.

Tyagi said that it is true that there was cordiality among all the constituents of the NDA during the Vajpayee era but things are perfectly all right in Bihar now. There is only some differences over the support to the Presidential candidate and nothing more.

Tyagi’s clarification came after the JD(U) high-ups were shocked as his Tuesday’s statement landed the party in an embarrassing position.

A large chunk of party leaders are already upset over the way Nitish Kumar has handled the situation. Then came Tyagi’s bizarre remarks.

The BJP was quick to capitalize on it and welcomed the JD(U) into the NDA fold. State party spokesman Vinod Narayan Jha, while appreciating Tyagi asked as to what then prompted the JD(U) to snap ties with the saffron party. However, he called for the burial of the past.
