Lalu strongly denies deal with BJP

Patna,(BiharTimes): RJD chief Lalu Yadav on Thursday strongly denied reports appearing in a section of media that he attempted to “strike a deal” with Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley by offering to destabilise Nitish Kumar-led Grand Alliance government in Bihar.

“I have never discussed anything with Jaitley or (Nitin) Gadkari, I would have called Modi or Amit Shah,” Lalu Yadav was quoted in NDTV.

“I will prefer to be wiped out but will never make any ideological compromise with Modi or the BJP,” he said.

Lalu said he would rather face the corruption charges than ask the ruling BJP to turn down the heat on him.

RJD chief alleges that the BJP is using fabricated charges and central agencies against him to exact political evenge for his unceasing criticism of the party and PM Modi.

Earlier reports said that Lalu met Arun Jaitley and his ministerial colleague, Nitin Gadkari, two months back.

Some analysts even went on to link Nitish’s latest move to support Ramnath Kovind with Lalu’s meeting with Jaitley.

Lalu along with RJD Rajya Sabha MP, Prem Gupta, according to reports, met a couple of top BJP leaders in New Delhi two months back.
