FIR lodged against Bihar’s education secretary

Patna,(BiharTimes): An FIR was lodged on Friday against education department principal secretary R K Mahajan with the Muzaffarpur Town police station in connection with the recruitment of about 1,000 teachers allegedly on the basis of fake educational and teacher eligibility test certificates in 2011-12.

The case was lodged on the order of a local court in Muzaffarpur.

According to petitioner Pankaj Kumar the court had passed the order on November 28 last year, but police adopted a dilly-dallying approach to allegedly save Mittal in the case.

Apart from the principal secretary, district education officer Satendra Narain Kanth, district project officer Nita Pandey and education officers of 16 blocks in Muzaffarpur district have been made accused.

FIRs against 335 such teachers were lodged with different police stations in Muzaffarpur district on the order of district magistrate.
