Two more arrested in train derailment case

Patna,(BiharTimes): Twenty-one year old Shivam Soni, a Jaunpur (UP) resident who was arrested from his in-laws place in Begusarai district, turns out to be an alleged ISI agent who was in the team which planned the derailment of Indore-Patna Express near Kanpur in which more than 150 passengers lost their lives.

It was on the revelations made by Shivam Soni, that the Uttar Pradesh ATS later arrested his associate from Varanasi.

Shivam is the eighth person to be arrested in this case. Police reportedly recovered railway map, time table and mobile phones from him.

Government Railway Police (GRP) sources said Shivam admitted that he had conducted a study of railway tracks on the Samastipur-Hajipur section of East Central Railway in January but later dropped the plan.

Another bid was made to derail the train on January 22-23 near Dalsingsarai but timely detection of the damaged track foiled his plan.
