SuMo seeks filing of FIR against builder of mall belonging to Lalu’s family

Patna,(BiharTimes): Keeping up his offensive senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi on Sunday sought filing of a case by State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) against the company engaged in construction of a mall on a two-acre  plot belongs to the family members of RJD chief Lalu Prasad.

Seeking chief minister Nitish Kumar’s intervention so that the FIR could be filed to stop the construction of the mall, SuMo told newspersons on Sunday that the work has been going on for the last one year without due environmental clearance from SEIAA.

According to SuMo 7.66 lakh square feet of land was being developed for the  construction of the mall without environmental clearance from SEIAA, when the rules of SEIAA warrant that if any land measuring two lakh square feet and above is developed for the construction work, the environment clearance and permission of this body has to be taken before hand.

SuMo alleged that the builder moved SEIAA on April 18––that is several days after the matter came to light––seeking its clearance to start the work.

The builder is RJD MLA from Sursand (Sitamarhi), Syed Abu Dojana. The former deputy CM said now that work on the said land has already begun, only the National Green Tribunal (NGT) can give the further clearance after penalising the builder. He said he has already raised the issue with the SEIAA.
