Bihar Police Men’s Association chief, office-bearer held for consuming liquor





Patna,(BiharTimes): A day after their arrest the two office-bearers of Bihar Police Men’s Association (BPMA), including its president, were on Thursday produced before the court of judicial magistrate Seema Eram, who remanded them in judicial custody for 14 days.

BPMA president Nirmal Singh and office-bearer Shamsher Khan were arrested late on Wednesday night for allegedly consuming liquor and creating nuisance on the premises of New Police Lines in Patna. According to Patna senior superintendent of police (SSP) Manu Maharaaj they both were found consuming alcohol when some senior officers, acting on a tip off, reached the New Police Lines at about 11pm. The two, who are in the constable rank, started abusing the police officers and created nuisance on the premises of New Police Lines.


The SSP said additional reinforcements were immediately called and the two policemen were arrested.
Both of them were subjected to medical test which confirmed that they had consumed alcohol.


The SSP said that a case had been registered against them. The breath analyzer test revealed Singh had alcohol content of 150.9 milligram per 100 ml of blood and in the case of Khan it was 179.6 mg per 100ml, the SSP said.
