Patna,(BiharTimes): If the police version are to be believed rats of Bihar have become alcoholic after the imposition of total prohibition on April 6, 2016.
They have gulped more than nine lakh litres of liquor which the police had seized at different points of time from all over the state. The police version came after the media reported that the seized bottles of liquor were missing from ‘malkhanas’ (stores) of police stations. At a recent meeting of the state police, it was said that while some of the seized bottles had been destroyed, what was left was finished off in the stores by rats.
It was upon this that that Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters) S K Singhal said that the Patna Zonal IG had been asked to inquire the matter. The state police headquarters would initiate action on the basis of his report.
This development has taken place just after the arrest of the president of the Bihar Police Men's Association, Nirmal Singh, and a member of the Association, Shamsher Singh, for consuming liquor in New Police Lines in Patna on Wednesday night. They were on Thursday produced before the court which sent them to judicial custody till May 18.
