70-year old man dies in Aurangabad after bomb goes off in his hands





Patna,(BiharTimes): A 70-year-old man, Chalitra Singh Bhokta was killed and another injured when a bomb planted by suspected Maoists exploded in his hand at Madanpur block of Aurangabad district of Bihar on Friday morning.


According to superintendent of police , Satya Prakash the bomb exploded after he unknowingly picked it up from a roadside area where police had left it after recovering some bombs from under the road. They were planted by Maoists to deter movement of vehicles of security forces.


 Another police team was supposed to defuse the explosive later during the day, but before they could reach there Bhokta lifted the bomb in his hands and tried to figure out what it actually is, the SP said adding Bhokta died on the spot, while another man Ravindra Kumar sustained injuries. He was admitted to a Primary Health Centre (PHC). Security forces have been rushed to the spot to find out whether more bombs have been planted underground or in the vicinity.
