Man beaten to death in group clash in Gaya village, five houses set on fire





Patna,(BiharTimes): A 50-year old man, Vikas Singh, was beaten to death in a group clash at Mandar village in Gaya district late on Friday night.


According to Superintendent of Police, Gaya, Avkash Kumar the deceased Vikas is the son of the landlord of Pipra estate, Mayan Singh. The SP said the incident occurred at a ‘Yagna’ organised by Satyendra Singh of Mandar village on Friday. Vikas Singh  had gone to attend the ‘Yagna’.


However, a heated argument sparked off over some issue. Vikas allegedly opened fire in which Satyendra’s daughter, Gudiya, sustained bullet injury in her leg.


Upon this Satyendra and his men thrashed Vikas to death. The body has been handed over to the family of Vikas after post-mortem at Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital, Gaya. The SP said that injured Gudiya has also been admitted to the same medical college and hospital for treatment and she is out of danger.


No arrest has so far been made. Later five houses were also set on fire in the clash. Tension is palpable in the village. Reports said that BJP MP of Aurangabad, Sushil Kumar Singh, and a large number of local people visited hospital and consoled Mayan Singh and his family members.
