Pay Panel recommends hike in salary, pension on lines with Centre

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bihar Pay Commission has recommended a hike for state government employees and pensioners on the lines of the  Centre’s recommendations based on the 7th Pay Commission.

The three-member Commission headed by former state chief secretary G S Kang on Monday submitted its report to chief minister Nitish Kumar.

The state cabinet had on December 21 last set up a three-member Pay Commission headed by Kang to decide the hike in salaries and allowances of government employees and pensioners. The recommendations, if accepted by the state government, will impact around 4.5 lakh state government employees and 3.5 lakh pensioners.

The Commission was asked to submit its report within three months. However, the term has been extended by another two months.

Kang said the Commission took more time because more than 350 representations were made before it by various groups, associations and individuals.
