Nitish rules out political meaning to luncheon with PM

Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar chierf minister Nitish Kumar on Friday rules out any political meaning to his luncheon with prime minister Narendra Modi on Saturday.

Talking to the media he said that he had been invited to attend a function organized by the Union government to honour the Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth.

“As 52 per cent of the population of Mauritius are of Bihari origin; so is the present prime minister as well as his predecessors I, as the chief minister of Bihar, have been invited to attend the function organized to honour the PM of that country,” Nitish said while ruling out any political meaning to the meeting.

He said that on this occasion he took time from the prime minister after lunch to discuss various issues related to Bihar, especially related to desiltation in Ganga.

Both Nitish and JD(U) spokesperson were critical of media making out a political meaning to this official meeting. The meeting was fixed 15 days back, the JD((U) sources said.

The media started duoing speculative stories as Nitish did not turn up for meeting with Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Friday to discuss the Presidential poll. The JD(U) sent former party chief Sharad Yadav as Nitish had met Sonia on this issue only a few days ago.

But media, especially in Bihar, started seeing a great rift in Grand Alliance on this issue.
