BJP appears divided over Nitish’s ‘homecoming’

Patna,(BiharTimes): While the leader of opposition in the Bihar Assembly Prem Kumar on Saturday stiffly opposed the return of Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar to the National Democratic Alliance fold former Union minister Dr C P Thakur holds an entirely different view.

Dr Thakur said Nitish should join NDA for a better Bihar. He was with the NDA for 17 years and Bihar witnessed the golden phase of development under the NDA regime.

Dr Thakur further said the situation in Bihar on all fronts, ranging from law and order to infrastructure development has gone from bad to worse after he severed ties with BJP. The state needs a strong and stable government, which will happen only if Nitish joins the NDA.

However, political observers are of the view that these are independent views of the BJP leaders and the party has not yet made up its mind. Just like Raghuvansh Prasad Singh and Bhai Birendra hold a different view in RJD, Dr Thakur may have soft corner for Nitish. But other saffron party leaders are dead against him.

“The truth is that, notwithstanding all the speculative stories by the media, the Grand Alliance is in tact.
