Manjhi flays Shyam Rajak, Uday Narayan Chaudhary

Patna,(BiharTimes): Former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has come down heavily on former Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary and JD(U) general secretary Shyam Rajak for their criticism of the Narendra Modi government’s policy on reservation for Dalits.

He said both Shyam Rajak and Uday Narayan Chaudhary are greedy people and they have nothing to do with the reservation of Dalits. Where were they when he was being sacked as chief minister of the state? Why did they not raise their voice in support of a Dalit chief minister?

Manjhi even attacked them for criticising him when he tried to do something for the Dalits.

“I had taken a major decision for land reform but they never supported me,”Manjhi said.

Political observers are of the view that Manjhi’s criticism for both the leaders are more based on personal reason. The lone seat his party Hindustani Awam Morcha won was Imamganj where Manjhi defeated Uday Narayan Chaudhary. Not only that the former is angry with the latter for his role as the Speaker of Assembly then.

Rajak too played an important role then to woo back some Dalit MLAs to the side of Nitish Kumar.

Asked to react to Manjhi's comments, Chaudhary said he was not bothered with what others say.

On the other hand RJD MLA from Hilsa Shakti Yadav claimed that many JDU leaders are not happy with Nitish and they are in contact with Lalu Prasad and rebel JDU leader Sharad Yadav to switch sides.
