Vikas Bahl gifts knee-pads to differently-abled teacher

Patna, Nov 10 (IANS) Filmmaker Vikas Bahl, who is currently busy with the pre-production work of the upcoming biopic on Patna-based mathematician Anand Kumar, gifted knee-pads to a differently-abled teacher named Saravjeet, here.

Featuring actor Hrithik Roshan in the lead role, the film will showcase the life of Anand Kumar, who trains 30 deserving, economically backward students for IIT-JEE -- the entrance exam of IIT -- each year, with a commendable success rate.

Bahl earlier visited Patna to feel the pulse of the surroundings that nurtured Anand. There, he met Sarvajeet, who teaches children who cannot afford to go to public schools.

After some days, Bahl returned with knee-pads for Sarvajeet, whose legs are incapacitated.

"I asked Bahl where he got it from. He said that after meeting Sarvajeet, the image often came before his eyes and when went to London, he saw the knee-pads in a shop and bought it straightaway," Anand said in a statement.

"It is a small thing, but will be very useful for him. Imagine, how tough it will be for anyone to crawl on knees," he added.

Saravjeet said that he was "overwhelmed" by Bahl's help.

"I got emotional when he gave it to me. It is a huge gesture on his part for a poor man like me," Saravjeet said.

"Super 30", the film backed by Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Films, is slated to release on November 23, 2018.
