Upset Nitish  opens mouth on power meet postponement, calls it an embarrassment





Patna,(BiharTimes): Four days after the last-minute cancellation of the two-day conference of the power ministers of the state in Rajgir on Thursday Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday publicly expressed his anger over the Cenre’s action.

Talking to the media he minced no wrods to say that it was an “embarrassment” that could have been avoided.

“It should not have been called off at the last hour. It was an impractical step because ministers from many states had reached. Our principal secretary, energy, told me several others had reached Delhi airport. It was an embarrassment for everybody.”

It needs to be recalled that the Bihar government had made an elaborate arrangements for that function and whole of Rajgir was beautifuly lit for this purpose.

Even musician Sonu Nigam had arrived in Patna to present his programme on this occasion. The conference was to be held on Friay and Saturday.

 According to Nitish the role of his government was that of a facilitator and all arrangements to welcome the guests were complete.  The Union minister of state for power R K Singh had written, asking him to participate in the conference.

As reported the conference was called off less than 16 hours before its scheduled start. The official website of the Union power ministry says the conference has been postponed and new dates will be intimated later.

RJD supremo Lalu Prasad had on Friday said that  Rs 60 crores were wasted due to this action of PM Narendra Modi, who according to him, wants to take revenge from Nitish for the cancellation of dinner by the latter on June 12, 2010.

Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar said that he had held talks with the Prime MInister on the issue of cow vigilantism in the country.
