RJD questions manner of PU’s invitation for Lalu Prasad

Patna,(BiharTimes): Rashtriya Janata Dal on Thursday protested against the manner in which the party chief Lalu Prasad has been invited by Patna University for its centenary celebration in which PM Narendra Modi is the chief guest.

Party leader and former art and culture minister Shiv Chandra Ram questioned the manner in which Lalu has been invited.

Stating that like in Prakash Utsav on January 5, Lalu has been invited to sit on the ground and not on the dais. “We think that it is a humiliation for him as Laluji is a former chief minister. Besides, he was the former president of Patna University Students’ Union,” he told newsmen adding that the final decision in this regard will be taken by his party leader himself.

However, the BJP MLA Nitin Navin strongly defended the PU’s decision. He accused Lalu of being involved in corruption though he as president of PUSU was in the forefront of JP movement which was launched against corruption Congress rule.

On the other hand JD(U) has so far said nothing on the issue.

It needs to be recalled that when Lalu Prasad and his deputy chief minister son Tejashwi Prasad Yadav could not get place on the dais on Prakash Utsav function RJD supremo did not protest but some of his party leaders took strong objection to it.

Then JD(U) was a part of Grand Alliance.

Incidentally, the present deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi has been invited to share dais with PM, governor and CM for Oct 14 PU function.
