Tejashwi flays govt after photo showing Nitish with liquor mafia goes viral

Patna,(BiharTimes): Former deputy chief minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Tuesday asked as to how a liquor mafia was seen standing beside  chief minister Nitish Kumar.

It needs to be recalled that the former deputy CM called the Press conference immediately after a photo went viral showing a local JD(U) leader, and an accused in the liquor tragedy, standing beside the chief minister.

He asked as to how after the public pledge taken against prohibition during the Grand Alliance days such an incident can happen.

According to himliquor is flowing in the state and mafia is growing stronger. The ban on liquor is now only on paper.

Meanwhile, state president of JD(U), Vashistha Narayan Singh, said that his party had immediately expelled Rakesh Singh, a block chief of JD(U) in Bhojpur district, from the party.

This is not the first time that the name of a block level JD(U) leader figured in any row related to liquor.

A few months back 168 bottles of liquor were allegedly recovered from the house of party’s Harnaut (Nalanda district) block chief. But soon the state government took action against the local excise officer on the ground that he falsely implicated the JD(U)  leader.

This casued a lot of consternation in the official rank.
