Mangal Pandey tries to trace Srijan to Rabri days

Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar health minister Mangal Pandey on Tuesday alleged that the then Bhagalpur district magistrate, Gorelal Yadav, had allotted land on lease to Srijan Mahila Vikas Sahyog Samiti on the directive of then chief minister Rabri Devi in 2003.

Incidentally, it was senior Bihar BJP leaders, who, on the eve of last Lok Sabha election (March 19,2014), welcomed Gorelal Yadav to the saffron party.

In a statement the former state BJP chief said Gorelal was considered to be a close aide of RJD chief Lalu Prasad. In addition, Gorelal happened to be a relative of Banka MP Jai Prakash Yadav.

Reacting to leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav’s announcement that he would attend a rally in Bhagalpur on September 10 to unravel the truth behind the scam Pandey alleged that the scam was scripted during Rabri Devi’s tenure as chief minister in 2003.

Mangal Pandey also claimed that the accounts of the different departments of the government were opened with Srijan cooperative bank on the directive of the then regime ruling Bihar.

Whatever be Mangal Pandey’s charge the SIT probing the Rs 1,000 crore Srijan Scam said that the fund had been transferred to this NGO only after 2007, that is two years after the coming to power of Nitish Kumar government.
