Journalist shot at in Bihar, accusing finger at JD(U) MLA





Patna,(BiharTimes): Two armed men shot at and injured Pankaj Kumar Mishra, Arwal-based correspondent of Hindi daily Rashtriya Sahara, on Thursday and looted Rs one lakh and a laptop from him after he was returning from bank.

According to Superintendent of Police, Dilip Kumar Mishra, they fired twice before snatching the money and laptop. One of the attackers, Hemanti Nandan Baghela alias Kundan Mahto, was later arrested and hunt is on to nab the other, Ambika Mahto.

However, Pankaj alleged that the crimianls had links with JD(U) legislator of Kurtha, Satyadev Kushwaha. He was targeted as he had written against Kundan Mahto, who is the son of a personal assistant of the MLA, Anant Verma. Ambika is the nephew of the PA.

Pankaj has been admitted to Patna Medical College and Hospital after initial treatment in local PHC and Sadar Hospital. His condition is stated to be stable. He received a bullet injury in his back.
