Nitish calls RJD’s Bhagalpur show ‘atmaghati nukkad-natak’, defends PM

Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday termed the Sunday’s Bhagalpur rally of RJD against Srijan Scam as “atmaghati nukkad-natak” (a suicidal street play) which would cost Lalu Prasad dearly.

Hitting back at Lalu a somewhat upset Nitish said  go to the Supreme Court or high court to say that he does not have faith in the CBI and ask them to monitor its investigation into the Srijan Scam.
The chief minister said there was no point in getting into a debate with the RJD over the Srijan Scam when a CBI probe was underway.

Talking to reporters after his weekly Lok Samvad (Interaction with the public) programme he said if anyone has any document against anybody related to the scam it should be handed over to the CBI.

In an hour long interaction with the media Nitish strongly defended demonestization and other policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, once his bitterest critic.

Not only that he said he was happy that an attack has been launched against ‘benami’ properties, which he had demanded on the very first day after demonetization.

On a question on the killing of journalist Gauri Lankesh in Bengaluru, the Bihar chief minister said the investigation should unearth the truth behind the incident.

“Had this happened in Bihar, there would have been a hue and cry all over the country. The Karnataka government should crack the case soon,” he said.

Nitish said that the state government had sent a memorandum to the Centre demanding Rs 7,636 crore as flood compensation to restore and repair basic infrastructure such as roads, drains, bridges, embankments and providing relief to victims of the floods.
