Patna,(BiharTimes): The newly-made Union minister of state for health and family welfare Ashwini Kumar Choubey, on Wednesday, said that All India Institute of Medical Sciencies (AIIMS), Patna, would become fully functional by 2020.

Talking to mediapersons, Choubey, who was on his first trip to Bihar after becoming minister, said about 12 departments of the AIIMS are operational. He said soon government would closely examine the functioning of AIIMS, Patna and see to it that it becomes fully operational by 2020.

Choubey had earlier served as health minister in the Nitish Kumar government. He once even warned that the hands of striking doctors should be chopped off.

He said he would request chief minister Nitish Kumar to make available at least 200 acres of land in the state for the second AIIMS.
