ED once again summons Rabri in IRCTC land case

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Enforcement Directorate has sent summons to former chief minister Rabri Devi to appear before it for questioning next week in the alleged IRCTC land deal.

As reported the FIR lodged by the CBI in July, named RJD leader Lalu Prasad, his wife Rabri Devi, their son Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, along with a former official of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and two others.

The CBI had summoned Lalu and Tejashwi for questioning on September 11 and 12, but neither of them appeared. They had asked for more time because of court cases and “political commitments”.

The ED had also summoned Rabri Devi last week, but she had sought more time on the ground of “personal commitments”.

The agency has earlier questioned former Union minister Prem Chand Gupta and his wife Sarla Gupta in the case. The two were alleged to be instrumental in transfer of land in Patna to the Lalu family.
