Kaukab Quadri takes over as working president of Bihar Congress
Patna,(BiharTimes): Kaukab Quadri took over as the working president of Bihar Congress at Sadaquat Ashram on Wednesday. Those present on the occasion include party’s MLA from Bikram, Siddharth.
Before taking over as the working president Kaukab called on the leader of the Congress party in Bihar Assembly, Sadanand Singh, who wished him success. He addressed Kaukab like younger brother.
Congress sources attributed the absence of almost all the MLAs to the festival season. The legislators are in the respective constituencies on the occasion of Durga Puja and Muharram. Besides, not all of them could be informed on time as the decision to replace Ashok Chaudhary with Kaukab was taken quickly.
Sources said that Kaukab’s meeting with Sadanand is a pointer to the fact that Ashok Chaudhary faction has suffered further setback.
Sadanand even crticised Ashok Chaudhary for his diatribe against the central leadership of the party. This indicated that he has now deserted the dissident camp.
On the other hand the rebel sources claimed that 15 MLAs and MLC met Ashok Chaudhary on Wednesday. But they refused to give their names.
Even if their claim is true it is still short of 18 MLAs needed to formalize the split.
