Posters of 'missing ninister with Rs 11K reward surface in Bihar

Patna, Jan 10 (IANS) Hundreds of posters saying "Union Minister Giriraj Singh is missing" have come up in Bihar's Nawada on Wednesday. A reward of Rs 11,000 will be given to the person who finds him.

People have pasted posters on their Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Nawada parliamentary constituency accusing him of not visiting the area since May 2014 when he won from there.

They have also charged him with doing nothing for the area's development of the area. Posters in Hindi announced the reward and claimed the local MP has gone "missing".

"Even after three and a half years, Giriraj Singh has not utilised the funds from his Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme for developmental work in Barbigha," the posters said.

Sanjay Singh, a resident, said that many people in Rajauli approved of the posters and vented anger against Singh.

The posters carried a list of problems faced by the voters in the constituency.

This is not the first time posters of missing Giriraj Singh have been pasted in his parliamentary constituency. In 2016, similar posters were pasted in Barbigha town in Sheikhpura district.

Giriraj Singh has courted controversy in the past with his different statements. He is known as a "vocal champion of Hinduvta politics".
