Rabri Devi demands removal of Bihar Chief Secretary

Patna, March 7 (IANS) A day after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Ranchi served notice to Bihar Chief Secretary Anjani Kumar Singh, declaring him accused in the fodder scam, former Chief Minister Rabri Devi on Wednesday asked Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to remove him and take action against him.

She also taunted Nitish Kumar, saying: "Where is his antaratma (inner voice) now when the CBI court has served notice to the state Chief Secretary in the fodder scam... why is he silent?"

"Anjani Kumar Singh should be removed and action should be taken against him after the CBI court served him notice in the fodder scam," said Rabri Devi, wife of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, who is currently lodged in a jail in Ranchi in connection with two fodder scam cases.

Rabri Devi, who is an RJD Member of the Bihar Legislative Council, told media persons here that "it appears Nitish Kumar's inner voice is dead as he has not reacted over the CBI notice".

"Nitish Kumar's inner voice was only raised in case of my younger son and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav," she said.

Rabri Devi was supported by most of the party legislators in the assembly.

The CBI court of Shivpal Singh has issued notice to Anjani Kumar Singh and six others in the fodder scam. They were directed to be present in the court on March 28 for allegedly illegally withdrawing money from Dumka treasury.
