Three killed in Maoist attack in Vaishali

Patna, (Bihar Times): In yet another attack in the district within a few months the Maoists killed three people and injured one in Sukki village under Patepur block of Vaishali district. They attacked the house of Indradev Singh, the mukhiya at about 9:00 pm on Monday killing at least three people. Unofficial reports put the toll at four. The mukhiya, who is known for his terror image, himself was not present in his house. The Maoists also set ablaze two luxurious cars belonging to the mukhiya.

According to reports the Maoists, who numbered about 100 fired around 150 rounds before fleeing across the swollen Nunphar river. Indradev has a criminal antecedent, and was wanted in a number of cases.

Since the village is situated on the tri-junction of Vaishali, Samastipur and Muzaffarpur and the region still inundated by flood water it was quite easy for the attackers to escape from the scene.

Immediately after the incident a team of Special Task Force was rushed to the village for combing operation. It needs to be mentioned that some months back a veterinary doctor and a couple of other persons were killed in a Maoist attack in the district.
