Patna, (Bihar Times): The chief priest of Mahabodhi
Temple of Bodh Gaya, Bhadant Bhodipal, resigned from
his post. He submitted his resignation to the district
magistrate, Jitendra Srivastava, who is also the
ex-officio chairman of the Mahabodhi Temple Management
Committee.
The resignation came following his indictment by the
inquiry report submitted to court by the Commissioner,
Magadh division, K P Rammaiah. It is upon the
submission of the report that the chief judicial
magistrate took cognizance against him in connection
with the illegal felling of a branch of the sacred
Mahabodhi Tree.
