Patna, (Bihar Times): Three Central Reserve Police
      personnel,   including an assistant commandant, and a
      Maoist were killed in a fierce gun   battle in Kadma
      village under Rajepur police station of East   Champarn
      district late on Wednesday night.
      
      According to police sources   over 100 Maoists assembled
      in the village with the view to carrying a   big
      operation later in the night. When the news of their
      assembly got   leaked a contingent of the CRPF was sent
      to the village to pre-empt the   Maoist operation.
      
      The Maoists got hint of the police party and   attacked
      the advancing contingent with sophisticated weapons.
      However, in   spite of this sudden burst of fire from
      the CPI (Maoists) the para-military   forces carried
      their operation and chased the ultras out of the
      region.   The assistant commandmant has been identified
      as Vinay Kumar Kapil.
