|            | Patna, (Bihar Times): In what can be termed as a
political realignment Bihar chief minister Nitish
Kumar and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam
Singh Yadav on Sunday shared platform on the occasion
of the 85th birth anniversary of the late socialist
    leader, Kapildeo Singh.
While Mulayam praised the state government’s
performance Nitish too appreciated the effort being
made by the Samajwadi Party leader. However, whether
this exchange of pleasantries remains a temporary
phenomenon or not could be known only later.
It needs to be mentioned that Nitish in Bihar is in
alliance with the BJP, the party with which Mulayam
has no inclination to have any truck. And if in future
Mulayam does go soft towards the BJP he, many
political observers feel, may do this at the cost of
    minority votes.

Though Samajwadi Party is virtually non-existent in
Bihar Nitish may try to use Mulayam’s influence to
divide the Yadav votes. But Samajwadi Party in Bihar
is not only weak but remains a divided house became
evident when supporters of two groups clashed at the
airport when they went to greet Mulayam.

Similarly, Nitish’s party Janata Dal (United) is very
weak in Uttar Pradesh and the coming together of these
two leaders may not mean much in respective states in
    the coming parliamentary election.
