Yet another APP shot dead in Bihar

Patna, (Bihar Times): One of the assistant public prosecutors of Jehanabad, Deendayal Yadav, was shot dead by some unidentified men on Monday evening while he was returning from the Jehanabad court to his native village, Neerabigha, under Makhdoompur police station of the district.

Yadav’s murder came just one and a half month after the killing of Ram Naresh Sharma, assistant public prosecutor of Begusarai. Sharma was shot dead on November 8, that is, on the eve of Diwali. He was the government lawyer in Rami Singh murder case. Lok Janshakti Party MP, Suraj Bhan, was the main accused in the Rami Singh murder case.

Though lawyers all over the state went on strike after Sharma’s murder the killing in Jehanabad confirms that the state government has failed to provide protection to the public prosecutors looking after government cases.

It needs to be mentioned that Suraj Bhan was made the accused in Sharma’s murder case, but after the threat issued by the LJP leader and Union minister, Ram Vilas Paswan, the state administration seems to have developed cold feet.
