Nitish blames Centre for absence of flood rehab assistance

Patna, (Bihar Times): Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday said he would launch an agitation against the UPA government if the state was denied its due flood related assistance.

Addressing a public meeting in Darbhanga on Saturday he said the state government had so far spent Rs 1,300 crores to help the victims of this year’s devastating floods but not a single paise has been received from the Centre beyond Bihar’s share of calamity relief fund.

The chief minister, who was in Darbhanga to inaugurate several development projects said that he would not hesitate in mobilising the people of Bihar for an agitation if the Centre continues to deny the state its due.
