Letter war in Bihar Police headquarters creates storm

Patna, (Bihar Times): Another  letter has caused furore in the police top brass in Patna. Unlike that of the infamous ‘Reshma’s letter’ this time the letter is pseudonymous.

The letter levels corruption and sex abuse charges against senior police officers. While a senior IPS officer,  Manoje Nath, on Wednesday termed it a‘sinister campaign’ to defame some senior officials, another, Anand Shankar, went on a long leave.

The Director General and Commissioner of Civil Defence Manoje Nath—whose name reportedly figured in the letter—has come out openly and questioned the Nitish government’s efforts to usher in good governance.

According to sources the letter contains the names of only those police officers who are opposed to the coterie of director general of police, Ashish Ranjan Sinha, leading to speculation that it was an outcome of the ongoing coterie war in the police headquarters.

The letter accused senior police officers of amassing illegal wealth and resorting to sex abuse. While airing contents of the letter, a private TV channel on December 1 reported that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had ordered a probe into allegations of disproportionate assets and sexual abuse levelled against several IPS officers.

Manoje Nath dubbed the letter as stage-managed. In a letter written to the new chief secretary,  R J M Pillai he sought impartial inquiry into how the complaints reached a private television channel. He also questioned the role of Principal Secretary (Home) Afzal Amanullah as well as DGP Sinha.

According to the letter “the allegations in itself was news to us because pseudonymous complaints are not inquired into and it was difficult to read the entire text of the scrolling complaint petition. But our names were prominently displayed.”

While talking to a section of media Nath said he had chosen to come out in public in order to defend himself as the state government was maintaining a silence over the issue. On the other hand, Director General (Police Building) Anand Shankar, met the Chief Secretary on Wednesday and applied for long leave.

This latest incident is nothing but the clear indication of failure Home Dept in which every one is a party . Someone uses his wife to terrorise elite class of Patna society while other uses MEDIA to demolish the true dedicated "sons of Bihar " .

No doubt , whatever happening in Bihar beaurocracy world is a war of EGOs and NITISH Sillence over them creates confusion !

How can one dare to put allegation on police officers like Manoj Nathe and Anand Shankar , Its just because they are not licking the toe of NALANDA !

But , i wonder the IMPOTENCY of MEDIA people , Once they created GENIUS - 40 , then created RESHAMA and Now this letter

The letter which mentions about the corruption and other charges against some senior IPS Officers should be dealt with strict hand .The government should do the impartial inquiry and booked those who are behind the conspiracy to defame these IPS officers..As far as i know ,Manoje Nath has been a very good IPS Officers and has worked honestly whatever role has been entrusted to him .He was an IG in the Economic offense wing ,in the Rabri Govt Rule and has been given several shunting feel.He would have been made the DG long back .
I would request the Chief minister to personally look into the matter and finish the cold war which has been going on in the police headquarters for some time .I am sure Nitish Kr can deal with this situation as he has worked really hard to change the face of Bihar. The guilty should be booked as early as possible.
