Research scholars, minister exchange heated words at CM’s Darbar

Patna, (Bihar Times): Research scholars of Tilka Manjhi University, Bhagalpur, had a heated exchange of words with the state’s human resources development minister, Brishen Patel, at chief minister’s Janata Darbar on Monday over the appointment for Plus-2 teachers.

The Research Scholars Association members demanded the scrapping of B Ed degree as one of the requirements for the appointment of Plus-2 teachers. However, the chief minister assured them that their demands would be looked into. The Association members were of the view that they are Ph D and D Litt, have cleared NET and have been teaching as temporary teachers in different colleges for the last many years yet they are being asked to have B Ed degree.

It needs to be mentioned that till recently in Bihar Plus-2 teachings were imparted in the colleges, therefore, there was no need to have B Ed degree for teachers. The Association leaders said that no state in the country has such a pre-requisite for the appointment in Plus-2 stage.
