Lalu skips UPA-Left meet on nuclear issue to perform Chhath

Patna, (Bihar Times): Like every year former chief minister Rabri Devi observed Chhath with husband Lalu Yadav joining her in this ritual. Lalu in fact gave the festival of Chhath more preference than the UPA-Left meet going on in Delhi on Friday.

When the newsmen called on him on Friday he refused to speak anything on politics and spoke only on the religious significance of Chhath. However, a day earlier on Thursday he expressed his displeasure over the administration’s failure to clean the ghats on the occasion of Chhath. He also wondered as to why the administration did not impose ban on the plying of private boat on the Chhath day.

Meanwhile, Chhath was observed all over Bihar and in large part of country with full religious fervour and zeal.
