Patna, (Bihar Times): Following the pattern of Uttar Pradesh the process of mutation of land in Bihar is being made easier as well as mandatory. The Land Reform Commission in its second interim report submitted to the state government recently made this recommendation.

It has also been suggested that the land revenue system should be made more compact. The Commission is of the view that in case of death of any person having landed property the transfer of land should be made in the name of his/her legal heir or successor at the earliest so that no dispute arose later.
