Anand Mohan in ICU after hunger strike

Patna, (Bihar Times): Former MP and the jailed Janata Dal (United) leader Anand Mohan Singh, sentenced to death for murder, was on Sunday night rushed to the Intensive Care Unit of the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital after his condition worsened following a 15-day hunger strike in Bhagalpur jail.

Anand Mohan, who was on October 3 last sentenced to death for the murder of Gopalganj District Magistrate G. Krishnaiah in 1994 had been on a hunger strike since November 4. Among other things he demanded facilities meant for special class prisoners in jail. The state government refused to give him the status.

Anand went on hunger strike soon after he was shifted from Beur jail in Patna to high-security Bhagalpur jail. His mother Geeta Devi said she would undertake a fast-unto-death to protest the inhuman treatment meted out to her son in jail.

This refers to the hunger strike of Anand Mohan Singh. I wish to state that I have no sympathy for Anand Mohan Singh, Mohammad Shahabuddin (RJD-MP), Anant Singh or any criminal who does such act to divert people's attention towards them.

Instead, I would be happy if these criminals in Bihar are eliminated from our society. Till such time they exist, Bihar's development and law & order situation will not be improved. I salute Nitish Kumar for taking tough action against criminals. Anand Mohan thinks he should be treated like "King" and be given all facilities in Jail. Anand Mohan you must remember and your wife including all your sympathiser must take note that you are a "convicted" person in brutal murder case of a qualified IAS Officer and District Megistrate of Gopalganj (late G. Krishnayyah) and hence, you should get justice because you and your close associates Akhlaq Ahmed, your wife Lovely and other associates are personally responsible for killing of DM in a broad day light and this gave an extremely shock wave for the peace-loving people of Bihar.

I am sure High Court and then Supreme Court will upheld death sentence for which you and your aides deserves. You have very limited time, therefore, eat as much as you can rather than doing the "NATAK" of hunger strike. We don't care. We want to build a "dream Bihar". In our dream, there is no place exist for you people and any like-minded people.
