PMC crackdown on khatals in Patna

Patna, (Bihar Times): After a lot of criticism finally Patna Municipal Corporation swung into action by deciding to launch a massive crackdown on khatals from next week.

In the last couple of years Khatals have come up in almost all important areas. In some areas like Nehru Nagar, Rajendra Nagar and Gardanibag even normal movement on road has almost been obstructed by  khatals. ”We have reminded municipal corporation authorities so many times what hell these khatals are making in the capital city for the local residents. Such a dirty and hellish situation can’t be imagined in any capital city of India” said Ashok Kumar a local resident of Nehru Nagar.

“We are yet to survey the number of  khatals in Patna but we will definitely  remove all khatals from the city. We will make this city khatal free very soon” said Municipal Commissioner, Rana Awadesh Singh on Sunday.

The PMC is also planning to shoo away the stray dogs. Recently the cases of biting of street dogs have increased alarmingly.
