Patna, (Bihar Times): Railway minister Lalu Prasad said in New Delhi on Tuesday that Larsen and Toubro and Tatas are in the race to set up the rail wheel factory in Chapra on a Public Private Partnership basis with the Indian Railways.

According to reports they are the only two companies that participated in the tender and their bids are under evaluation.

On the dedicated rail freight corridor project Lalu said that the eastern freight corridor would be connected to all major ports in West. Clarifying his position on the SEZ the railway minister said that farmers should not be forced to sell land to the government. He launched an e-learning portal for Company Secretaries Foundation Programme. Under the system, the students would be imparted coaching through Web-based training.
