Patna, (Bihar Times): Coming close on the heels of the extortion case against the ruling Janata Dal (United) MLA by Gammon India Ltd an employee of a road construction firm was killed and three others seriously injured in Teer village under Siwan district on Thursday.

According to the superintendent of police, Sunil Kumar, five armed criminals stormed the office of Morewan Construction Company, engaged in road construction work between Darauli and Asaon in the district, and opened fire killing an employee on the spot and critically injuring three others. They were rushed to a government hospital.

The criminals looted Rs 1.75 lakh from the office of the firm. It is said that the failure to pay the extortion amount was responsible for the killing of the employees of the firm.

Earlier this week a case has been lodged against the ruling Janata Dal (United) MLA from Raghopur in Supaul district, Neeraj Kumar Singh alias Babloo, for allegedly indulging in extortion and misbehaving with the manager of a reputed firm involved in the construction of the East-West Corridor. This six-lane National Highway is being built under the Prime Minister’s Golden Quadrilateral Project and connects the eastern part of India to the west.

Babloo is not the only ruling party MLA involved in such extortion racket in the state.
