Will quit if five would have died in police firing: Minister

Ashwini ChaubeyPatna, (Bihar Times): While participating in a television programme on Saturday evening Bihar’s urban development minister, Ashwini Kumar Choubey, challenged the news report that five people have died in two-days of violence in Bhagalpur.

Choubey, who incidentally comes from Bhagalpur, was upset with the television channels and print media for 'exaggerating' the news. He even refused to accept the Sahara Bihar reporter’s version from Bhagalpur on the death toll. When the reporter disclosed the names of the five persons who died in the firing he retorted back stating that if he is proved wrong he would resigned from the Nitish Kumar ministry.

Choubey, it must be recalled, after becoming the urban development minister promised to convert Patna into Paris within three months. The truth is for everyone to see.
