Patna, (Bihar Times): Coming down heavily on the the
police barbarity in Kahalgaon in Bhagalpur district
railway minister, Lalu Prasad Yadav, wondered as to
why the Nitish government is blaming the Centre for
the power crisis in Bihar when it had, before coming
to power in the state, promised to produce electricity
within no time. Where has all the plan to produce
power gone? he asked while talking to newsmen in Patna
    on Saturday.

He denied that the state government had ever
approached the Centre for power and said that the
electricity could have been bought from neighbouring
states too. He said that during his 15 years rule
never had five people been killed by police just
    because they were demanding power.

Terming the judicial probe as an eye-wash he said that
nothing would come out of it. This government only
believes in suppressing the genuine demand of the
    people.

Meanwhile, the Rashtriya Janata Dal is observing Black
Day on Sunday in protest against the killing of five
people in two days of violence in Bhagalpur.
